Hi, I’m Peggy (she/her),
I believe in the remarkable potential for change and personal growth that exists within each individual. This journey of transformation is not one that you have to navigate alone; together, we can identify the specific barriers that may be holding you back. We will also explore the abundant opportunities that lie ahead, focusing on building resilience, fostering persistence, and embracing the transformative experiences that change can bring.
I specialize in a range of evidence-based practices individualized to meet your needs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps recognize and change negative thought patterns; Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) assists with managing emotions and enhancing relationship quality; and mindfulness strategies encourage living in the present moment and developing awareness of your thoughts and feelings. Utilizing these modalities will empower you to alter unhelpful thought processes, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and achieve greater emotional stability.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations, including survivors of trauma and individuals in recovery from addiction. I recognize that each person's journey is unique, and I am committed to tailoring my approaches to meet your specific needs and goals.
With a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Simmons University in Boston and a Summa Cum Laude undergraduate degree from LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis, TN, I bring a strong academic background to my practice. In addition to my clinical practice, I bring a wealth of experience from my previous role as Vice President at a global organization, which has enriched my understanding of the complexities of life transitions and stressors. My background in academia, nonprofit organizations, and city government further informs my practice, giving me a broad perspective on the challenges many individuals face today.
My therapy approach is collaborative and client-centered, and your thoughts, feelings, and goals will be at the forefront of our work. I prioritize creating a safe and nurturing environment where you can feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and emotions without judgment.
