Hello, I’m Sonia (she/her).
I invite clients seeking a safe space to delve into the emotional, mental, and behavioral challenges affecting their lives. If you are still determining your goals or the path you should take to achieve them, I'm here to help you examine your current situation and understand how the patterns of your past shape who you are today. You don’t need a detailed plan—just a willingness to dip your toes in and take a chance on discovering a more fulfilling life. I believe that everyone's journey is unique and that there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. I aim to create a welcoming environment where you can feel comfortable being vulnerable and sharing the struggles we all experience as part of being human. Through this process, I hope you will learn more about yourself and acquire the tools and skills necessary to live a richer, more meaningful life.
I have over 10 years of experience in residential, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and outpatient levels of care. I have worked with individuals facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, panic, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma, substance use disorders, and behavioral addictions. Currently, I continue to support adults dealing with these issues, and I also work with couples to address emotional instability stemming from significant relationship stressors.
I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Auburn University and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Memphis. I am a National Certified Counselor and hold an LPC-MHSP license in the state of Tennessee. Additionally, I am a Level II Certified Addiction Counselor in Georgia and a Level I National Certified Addiction Counselor. I am currently pursuing advanced training in obsessive-compulsive disorder. I maintain memberships with the American Counseling Association, Chi Sigma Iota, and the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors.
In my free time, I enjoy running, watching and playing sports, yoga, mindfulness practice, traveling, visiting museums, and spending time with family, friends, and my kitten Theodore.
